iPhone dictation → task in Notion
When you run several projects, tasks come from everywhere: on calls, on the road, between meetings. There is no time to write them down properly, and some simply get lost. This solution turns a voice note into a ready task in Notion within seconds.
What you get
- Press the Action button on your iPhone and say: “send the client the TikTok report by Friday, high priority”.
- A task with title, priority, project and deadline appears in your Notion task database.
- The same path works for call summaries: paste the text and it becomes separate tasks.
How it works
- An iOS Shortcut records the dictation and turns it into text on the iPhone.
- The text goes to the Claude API with instructions to split it into fields: title, priority, project, due date.
- The JSON response is sent to the Notion API and creates a page in your task database.
There is no third-party automation service in the middle: just the phone, Claude and Notion.
What you need to set it up
- A Notion task database with the fields you need, for example Name, Priority, Project, Deadline.
- A Claude API key and a Notion integration with access to that database.
- An iPhone with the Shortcuts app.
Tips
- Keep your project list in Notion short and pass it into the instructions: the model will link tasks to projects more reliably.
- If no deadline is mentioned, leave the field empty rather than inventing a date.
